With summer flooding of basements in the Milwaukee area this year, homeowners need to be smart and cautious when it comes to their heating units and water heating units.  The Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA) strictly emphasizes that any gas appliance (furnace, water heater, clothes dryer) that has had water over the level of the burners should be REPLACED, without attempting to repair it.

D and M Heating agrees with this warning.  Our technicians will evaluate your equipment for damage, but we will not attempt to light or start water damaged appliances.

If you have any questions regarding flooded equipment, please call our office at 414-281-5350.

1/22/2008 Infinity™ IdealComfort™ Furnace from Carrier 1/22/2008
INDIANAPOLIS, IND., Jan. 22, 2008 – The Infinity™ IdealComfort™ System modulating gas furnace from Carrier introduces a whole new level of comfort by providing up to 3.5 times tighter temperature control than most standard furnaces, providing significant energy savings. It is also the quietest gas furnace on the market.

This two-stage furnace can remain at low speed, allowing it to automatically adjust to a desired temperature. Many consumers do not realize that although their thermostat is set to a certain temperature, the temperature can fluctuate one degree up or down causing a noticeable difference in comfort.

"With traditional furnaces, homeowners might notice a change in temperature just before their furnace turns on and just after the furnace turns off," said Allison Eckstein, Carrier's marketing manager for heating products." With the Infinity IdealComfort System, there no noticeable change because it maintains the temperature within 0.3 degrees F of the set point."

In addition to better comfort control, the IdealComfort System furnace also offers excellent energy savings. Consumers can save up to $345 a year in energy costs versus previous Carrier single-stage models.

Eckstein added, "Unlike some variable speed products on the market, the IdealComfort System requires no special training or procedures to install. This furnace is as easy to install as any Infinity furnace in the Carrier line. Any technician who can install a two-stage gas valve unit can install an IdealComfort System furnace."
